Hey again! Here is another artist, one of my faves :)Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec, 1864-1901, France
Toulouse was a famous painter, illustrator, printmaker and cartel artists (posters). He's work is characterized a bohemian and post- impressionist, the same period of painters like Cezanne, Van Gogh and Gaugain (whom he was very close friends to). Toulouse centered his art in commercial poster making for the Parisian nightlife, specially the Moulin Rouge and the circus. Toulouse died at the young age of 36 due an alcoholism problem related to his physical limitations (he had broke both femurs and measured 1.52 meters tall). If you are interested in this painter he is featured in both films of Moulin Rouge! and a biographical film and musical called Lautrec.

Hey all again. Here is another artist in stardoll :)Frida Kahlo, 1907-1954 Mexico
Frida Kahlo was a Mexican painter, characterized by her paintings of 'Pain and Passion' (Physically she suffered a lot due to many health problems and an accident that paralyzed her). Her works are categorized as Naive art and folkloric art, but also as a branch of surrealism, including many self portraits. She was married to the famous Mexican painter, Diego Rivera. Henri Matisse, 1869-1954 France
Matisse was a painter, sculptor and illustrator. Recognized as one of the greatest artist of the XX century. He is characterized by his original use of colors and shapes and identified as an important figure in fauvism, although he is the central figure of modern art.

Jackson Pollock, 1912-1956 USA
Pollock was the most influent american artist, referent to the abstract expressionism and he is considered as one of the most important painters of the US in the XX century. He died at the early age of 44 due to an alcohol-related car accident. If you are interested in Pollock you should watch the film Pollock by Ed Harris.

Hey everyone! I decided that for my section here on the blog I will post stardoll art related information. Starting with the most obvious; antidote second season, based on clothes that represented the works of famous artists like Frida Kahlo, Andy Warhol and Van Gogh, among others. I will post small information about each artist every day.

Andy Warhol - 1928-1987, USA
He was a plastic artist, filmmaker and illustrator. Probably the most famous pop artist as he invented and developed this art. He photographed and painted several celebrities including Marilyn Monroe. If you are interested in Warhol you should watch the film Factory Girl (which is mainly based on the life of the model and socialite Edie Sedwick and her relation with Warhol)

Piet Mondrian, 1872-1944, Holland
Mondrian was a vanguardist painter that focused on minimalism and was the founder of neo-placism . His abstract paintings of squared labyrinths using primary colors caused a lot of controversy. His works are mainly categorized as 'Geometric abstraction'. Fashion designer YSLs Fall 1965 Mondrian collection featured shift dresses in blocks of primary color with black bordering inspired by Mondrian.

Jeff Koons, 1955- , USA
Jeff Koons is an contemporary plastic artist, whose work is classified as a modern minimalism or neo-pop. He uses every day objects with no value and places them in installations that makes them look 'special', this way he is mocking how people can follow any trend given by publicity. He is also a magazine photographer and crates several sculptures and collages.
